The Moments That Became A Movement.
At Good Shepherd we strive to live out our mission: to invite the next person to follow Jesus, grow in faith, and live a life of impact.
Because of your generosity, Good Shepherd is a place where people gather for worship on Sunday and then live out their faith all week long through small groups and igniting hope in their homes and neighborhoods.
The Story
Planted in 1990 in the northern suburbs of Kansas City, MO, a small group of people who believed that the church should be a welcoming community for everyone chartered Good Shepherd. Their vision was to create a space that makes a practical difference in our city and supports people in their everyday lives. What began as a small movement has continued to grow and evolve, shaping who we are today.
That movement continues with us!

Living rooms, classrooms, coffee shops, and Zoom. 56 young adults found their people, and our Justice Team meet-ups and Bilingual Small Group made the circle wider.
Small GROUPS
131 people dug into scripture at Digging Deeper. 123 opened up in Grace Filled Conversations. 182 women gathered for Soul Sisters. 68 men showed up for our Men’s Retreat and Breakfast.
Adult GROUPS
Each one is someone saying yes, and a church family showing up to celebrate with them.
BAPTISMS
Two weekends of beds built for kids, hygiene kits for families hit by the earthquakes in Venezuela, shifts at Harvesters, and meals shared with unsheltered neighbors.
SERVE WEEKENDS
Students in 6th through 12th grade found a place to belong, a space to grow, and a community they can relate to. 5 graduating seniors got scholarships for their next chapter.
GSYOUTH
gsKids saw combined growth of more than 11%, and more than 39 volunteers show up every week because every kid deserves to know they are unique, worthy, and loved.
